About Mr. Tacheny
a.k.a. Mr. T
Mr. Tacheny, imagines himself as a mix of Mr. Spock, the Grinch, and Willy Wonka. He first came to Meroby Elementary School in 1990. Then, after 25 years, it was off to teaching Language Arts and Math at Mountain Valley Middle School. Now, Mr. Tacheny gets to return to elementary grades and work with new teachers and lots of neat and new students as a part of DES's Village. His favorite thing at school (and beyond) is reading, and he also enjoys writing, art, running, and juggling.
Growing up in the Brunswick area, Mr. Tacheny enjoyed school, running, and being on the swim team. Later he lived and worked on board a submarine! Finally he came to Dixfield, Maine. All along, Mr. T has had fun with juggling, magic, and theater. He has performed under the name of Charlie Who since 1986. His show has taken him from the northern tip of Maine to Paraguay, South America. Now he's only Charlie Who a few times during months that do not have the letter R in them. He's very glad to be a teacher the rest of the time.
